It’s August. That means summer is already half over. As a mom of 2 (an almost six year old going into first grade, and a one-and-a-half year old in daycare), i’m already thinking of how packing school lunches, homeworks, and the chaos of year-round motherhood is almost here.
I walked into the Dollar Store today and they already had Thanksgiving decorations displayed in full-frontal view.
At first, I was offended.
How dare they rush me?! Summer just started. I'm not ready for chilly mornings or saying goodbye to warm, hazy evenings.
But then... I stopped for a second.
I remembered what fall feels like.
The smell of cinnamon and pumpkin spice drifting through the house. Oversized sweaters that somehow make everything feel cozier. Candles flickering while the rain taps against the windows. The excitement of back-to-school shopping, Halloween, and knowing the holiday season is just around the corner.
I love watching the leaves slowly change from green to shades of gold, orange, and red.
And somehow... that's when I start changing, too.
I don't know what it is about autumn, but it's the season that reminds me to slow down.
I start noticing the little things again.
Cuddles on the couch during a thunderstorm. Crunching through leaf piles with the kids. Hot drinks that somehow taste better when it's cold outside. Family gatherings that fill the house with laughter. Cozy evenings that don't need a reason to be special.
Maybe that's why fall has always felt like home to me.

This week I've been unpacking children's books for the shop, and it's reminded me how special bedtime stories really are. There’s something so cozy about ending the day curled up together with a good book.

Pumpkin spice season is almost here.
I know... it's basic.
But also, I don't care. 😂
Give me the pumpkin spice latte, the pumpkin muffins, the pumpkin candles... I'm fully embracing fall this year.

I've always believed a candle can change the whole mood of a room. Lighting one while you're reading, cleaning, or just relaxing somehow makes ordinary evenings feel a little more special.
🎁 Gift Idea
One of my favorite gifts to give is something small but thoughtful. A candle, a greeting card with a handwritten message, or a favorite children's book can mean so much more than an expensive gift picked up at the last minute.
💭 A Little Thought
Lately I've been thinking about how fast life moves.
Between work, school, laundry, appointments, and everything else, it's easy to forget to slow down.
